While mapping the current flooding situation in Perak using Tomnod, I have noticed an isolated island in the Sungai Perak after the bridge collapse.
Picture below shows the island before the flood event. There was a bridge connecting the island, and it is protected by a narrow river bank. You will also found some residential housing on the island.
After the flooding event, the bridge was gone, as well as the river bank on the right. Most of the island north was inundated. Hopefully the residence on the island manage to escape before the bridge collapse.
You will also found that the flood altered the geographical feature of the river and its surrounding area. At the southern part of the island, there are clear sedimentation effects.
