KUALA LUMPUR: The situation in flood-hit Kelantan and Terengganu continues to improve, with 59 people at evacuation centres in the two east coast states as at 9am Friday.
In Kelantan, 15 evacuees are being accommodated at the relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Awang in the Pasir Puteh district, down from 22 Thursday night, according to the state flood portal.
It also said that 23 evacuees were being housed at the relief centre at the Desa Taqwa hall of Kampung Nibong in the Tanah Merah district.
The sky in Kelantan is overcast with heavy rain now and then.
In TERENGGANU, only one relief centre remains open, at the surau of Kampung Nyatuh in the Setiu district, with 21 evacuees, according to the state flood portal.
The evacuees are expected to return to their homes this evening, depending on the weather. – Bernama
