KUALA LUMPUR: Flashfloods and uprooted trees snarled peak hour traffic in parts of the city on Tuesday.

City fire and rescue department operations assistant director Azizan Ismail said flashfloods left motorist stranded in knee- deep waters along Jalan Loke Yew heading towards the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (PPUKM) and the Cheras roundabout.

“Two fire engines from Tun Razak and Hang Tuah fire stations were dispatched to aid the stranded motorists,” he said.

Azizan said traffic was at a near standstill along those roads and urged motorists to be patient.

Meanwhile, KL Traffic Update twitter handle has warned road users about two fallen trees along the MRR2 near the Cheras Tesco hypermarket and Jalan Raja Abdullah.
